Rotheram Carrington Financial Recruitment is pleased to be supporting their Client a well-established Company in the Nantwich area, seeking a ‘Hands On’ Interim Financial Controller for approximately 11 months to cover a secondment. This business turns over in the region of £55m, and is part of a large Group.
The Interim Financial Controller will be responsible for the following duties:
Monthly Reporting & Management Accounts
- Produce monthly management accounts, including preparation and review of sales reports for distribution to directors and senior managers.
- Complete unbilled warehouse journals, accruals, and other key month‑end adjustments.
Year-End & Audit
- Lead the preparation of year‑end statutory accounts and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
Balance Sheet Ownership
- Take full ownership of all Balance Sheet accounts, including monthly reconciliations for both the site and associated entity.
- Submit reconciliations and supporting information to the Group Finance Team.
Finance Agreements & Leasing
- Calculate and record new finance agreements within the financial statements.
- Manage finance and operating lease liabilities and maintain regular communication with the European Group Finance Team.
Controls, Compliance & SOX
- Develop and maintain strong financial controls to ensure full compliance with SOX requirements and achieve zero audit issues.
- Prepare regular SOX reporting, including monthly SAP master data changes and weekly SAP reconciliations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting process.
- Produce weekly cashflow forecasts for the Finance Director and Group Finance Team.
Systems & Process Management
- Maintain the PO process, including onboarding new customers and suppliers in SAP.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between SAP and FCCS.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems.
- Ad hoc duties as required buy the FD and Group Finance
Skills/Experience
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified
- Proven experience as a ‘Hands On’ Financial Controller running all aspects of finance, and team for a larger SME business
- Experience of SAP advantageous
- Strong experience of financial control and continuous improvements
- Any experience of US GAAP and SOX would be advantageous
Salary/Benefits
- £75,000 to £85,000 per annum on a FTC
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Offering 1 or 2 days working from home, but in the initial stages of learning the role it would mainly be on site
