Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group are pleased to be supporting one of our key Clients in the recruitment of a Financial Accountant to cover maternity leave for 9 to 12 months.  This is working for a very well-established and growing business turning over in the region of £50m based in the Crewe area offering hybrid working.  Ideally looking for someone full-time but will also consider someone who needed to work 30 hours around school run.

This role will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following duties:

• Production of the year end statutory accounts preparation for external audit
• Fully responsible for the balance sheet accounting, including monthly reconciliations reported to Group Finance
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, review of sales reports for the directors and senior managers including unbilled journals and accruals
• Responsible for the calculation of new tenders and contracts with regards to operating leases and liabilities, regular liaison with European Group Finance Team
• Continuous improvement around financial control, ensuring compliance and audit are completely up to date with minimal issues within SOX compliance framework
• Weekly cashflow forecasting to Finance Director and Group Finance team
• Supporting the annual budgeting process.
• Responsible for maintaining the Purchase Order system, which includes setting up new customers/suppliers within SAP
• Adhoc reporting and project work as required by the Financial Controller and FP&A Manager
• Financial reporting on a regular basis with regards to SOX such as monthly SAP data changes and weekly SAP reconciliation
• Overseeing all aspects of the UK and EU VAT reporting process
• Completion of HM Revenue and Customs returns and payments as required
• Preparation of Corporation tax return prior to advisers review
• Responsible for the completion and submission of government issued forms such as Office for National Statistics, Payment Practices reporting returns as required.
• Finance lead on payroll and benefits compliance legislation.

Skills/Experience

• ACCA/ACA Qualified or proven experience in a similar financial accounting role
• Available to start at the latest mid August
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Strong Excel and analytical skills

What’s on Offer

• £50,000 to £60,000 per annum pro rata
• Hours 37.5 hours per week, or would consider 30 hours around school run
