About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our busy Finance Department based at their headoffice, reporting into the Finance Team Leader.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within finance and accounting. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accounts, processing invoices and payments, and supporting the wider finance and commercial teams to ensure the smooth running of financial operations.

Your New Role:

Financial Administration

  • Maintain the register daily, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor and manage invoices on hold, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries.
  • Request and track supplier credit notes in collaboration with the Commercial Team.
  • Set up new accounts in accordance with company procedures.
  • Process authorised invoices accurately, ensuring correct site codes and cost codes are applied.
  • Perform ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage filing, copying and general administrative duties.
  • Handle incoming correspondence and documentation.
  • Liaise with internal teams, such as commercial and buying, providing support when required.
  • Assist colleagues within the Finance Department and wider business as needed.
  • Answer telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties to support business requirements.

Systems & Compliance:

  • Help maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information systems.
  • Ensure accounting records are retained and stored in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support compliance with company accounting procedures and financial controls.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be confident working with finance systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Have previous experience in a finance, accounts payable or administration role (desirable).
