Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group are extremely pleased to be working with a growing SME based in the Crewe area turning over in the region of £20m.  This business is working within the service sector, and our Client is looking to recruit a qualified Finance Manager to join their team.  Whilst part of this role is preparing the management accounts, there is a strong emphasis on statutory accounting.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Production of month-end accounts and analysis for review of the Financial Controller
  • Preparing the year-end statutory financial statements and responsible for leading the bi-annual audit liaising with external auditors
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance of all necessary statutory filings
  • Prepare and reconcile the monthly VAT return in line with the general ledger
  • Producing a variety of financial reports and management information for the business to support better financial business decisions
  • Finance business partnering across multiple areas of the business including operations and logistics
  • Support and mentor the finance team helping them to develop
  • Working with the general ledger team to ensure best practice and timely information
  • To drive continuous process improvement in finance to support the businesses ongoing growth
  • Adhoc project accounting and analysis as required by the management team


  • ACCA/ACA qualified or excellent experience in financial accounting with relevant academics
  • Either proven experience of financial accounting in industry or will consider a first time mover from practice
  • Excellent attention to detail, and able to work to tight deadlines – essential
  • Ability work calmly under pressure and manage multiple projects at the same time whilst delivering to deadline
  • Advanced Excel – essential
  • Process improvement, a strong desire to identify areas of improvement and be responsible for implementing efficiencies across the business, working with colleagues across other departments
