In The Company Of Amy Knowles

‘A The Company Of  Amy Knowles’

WHAT DO YOU DO AMY?

I specialise in the recruitment of part-qualified accountants and transactional finance roles.  I also provide support in the recruitment of office professionals for clients whom I have established long term working relationships, over the past 16 years of my recruiting career.

HOW DID YOU END UP WORKING AT ROTHERAM CARRINGTON RECRUITMENT GROUP?

Sarah and I have known each other personally and professionally for a number of years.  We both worked together at one of the leading global specialist recruiters.  Over a coffee, there were talks of a new business venture and an exciting opportunity.  So after spending over 13 years, with my previous employer, it was time for a new challenge and a better work life balance around a young family and I was delighted to come on board and assist in supporting the business from the start.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?

Being a people person, I love building long term partnerships, understanding motivations and business needs to ensure the best for all parties.  I get tremendous satisfaction in knowing that I have assisted a candidate in the next step of their career and helped them gain their dream job, whilst supporting my clients in recruiting a great person for their team and business. I’m a perfectionist and love doing the best I can in all my endeavours.

WHAT’S THE BEST BIT ABOUT YOUR JOB?

All of it! There is never a dull moment in recruitment with so much variety, managing all the different parts of the role.  This can be from business development, building new relationships with organisations that we have never worked with before, to nurturing our existing business partnerships. Providing a tailored service to candidates, proactively supporting each persons search of their dream job.  In recruitment you get to meet and work with lots of different and interesting people from CEO’s of major businesses looking for a PA, to a Finance Manager of an SME looking for a ledger clerk.  Finally, having the privilege of working with such a great team, who value and support each other, through the good and the bad.

WHAT IS YOUR PET HATE IN BUSINESS?

Recruiters, who only operate with the short term in mind, looking for that quick fee and over promising and under delivering! It frustrates me when I hear the negative press the industry can get.  But I enjoy a challenge and will always try and do my very best, to ensure the best possible service and that we at Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group, genuinely do care!

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF WORK ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

The harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you achieve it!

WHAT MOMENTS IN YOUR CAREER STAND OUT?

From initially looking at avenues of becoming an Accountant, registering with a leading agency, to be sold the ‘recruitment’ dream.  Spending over 13 years of my career, working for and being trained by a global specialist agency; to the exciting challenge over the last 3 years, of supporting a new start-up business in it’s infancy, I have never looked back.  Recruitment is something I love and enjoy doing!

WHAT DO YOU THINK SETS ROTHERAM CARRINGTON RECRUITMENT GROUP APART FROM ITS COMPETITION?

Whilst Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group is a relatively new business, it has the support of a small yet growing team of dedicated individuals, who have operated in the industry for a long time.  Our reputation is paramount and we use our wealth of knowledge and experience to offer an honest, consultative approach to the candidates and clients that we support.
